Hi--I was diagnosed with IC in Sept'05. I've been coping by following the diet and using Elmiron, Elavil and Ureleif and lots of Preleif. Oh yes and with the help of this web site Thnaks !!! Now I'm told I have an 8.5mm kidney stone which will need to be treated with Lithotripsy before it gets any larger. This would worry me even without the IC but now I'm dreading even more than childbirth and I've done that twice. Has anyone out there been through this. Any advice?? I've been pretty fortunate in that the Elmiron does seem to be helping. I've gone from doubled over in tears on the couch,to being able to care for my two kids again, so I'm terrified of a set back. Thanks--Jaisa

When will you be having the lithotripsy? Hopefully it will be soon. It's always scary not knowing what's going to happen. What you're feeling is normal.

:welcome: First welcome to the boards.
I can't help you with any advice but try not to worry about the procedure. Talk to your doctor about your worries.
I think that sometimes the anticipation is worse than the event so , I hope that it will be soon.
Please keep posting and let us know how everything goes.

Hi Jaisa and let me add my welcome as well!! Nice to meet you ;) I have no experience with the procedure, but like Rosalie said, try not to worry, and DO talk to your doc about your fears and anxieties - that can be a huge help!! When I had my colonoscopy, my prep nurse was my greatest ally! I told her just how freaked out I was etc, and she made sure I was well taken care of in that department. :)
Please keep us posted!!!
Hugs!

I just wanted to say hello too! Welcome to the boards! Yes, there are people out here & they're wonderful people, I might add. I don't have any experience with kidney stones, but wish you the best of luck.
