Next week will be the second period I've had with IC. Looking back, I always have urinary problems before my peroid, but it's managable. Now I'm getting anxious because the last flare I had was right before my period and it was when I was diagnosed with IC. That last flare really knocked me down and now I feel like I'm just waiting for it to happen again. I feel like I'm waiting for lightning to strike me. Any tips on how to handle the PMS flare when you know it's coming?

Rest as much as you can...be stricter on your diet than normal...(may want to take Prelief and Baking Soda) In the future you may want to try going on the pill...maybe one like Seasonale so you don't have to have a monthly flare. I sugest using heat and cold to keep those pelvic musscles relaxed!

Keep us posted on how things go :grouphug:

I agree totally with Katrina, rest, watch your diet and relax! Don't assume the worst - sometimes our fears have a way of manifesting into reality, so breathe and know whatever comes, you'll be fine, you will handle it beautifully and it will go away... Please please don't worry about what hasn't happened yet!! ;) Just know that this time around - you are diagnosed and have some tricks up your sleeve to show that nasty IC gremlin that thinks he's going to get you...LMAO!!!!

Hugs!!!!!!

I've learned by trial and error (only diagnosed w/IC in Aug) that eating a plain baked potato really calms things down. I'll do anything for an excuse to eat! :) Also, drink as much water as you can stand to drink. A bladder that really is full, versus a bladder that just feels full, makes a big difference.
Good luck!
