I have been onABX for over a year for my lyme... no yeast infections cause I take high doses of probotics.... long story short.... I had a heart procedure which I had to be cathedarised.... I got an UTI and was on augmentin for 10 days... my dip sticks showed it came back and they put me on levaquin (all while I am on Doxy for lyme)

I had anohter culture done on Friay (hopefully will know tomorrow) if its stil there?

By vagina hurts, its soar, I have urethrea bruning and frequency. Its alsomost like a flare but not....

I took diflucan for 2 days (friday and Sunday monring) I also did a vaginal suppoistory for yeast on Friday evening.

Now I am thinking maybe its BV.... I had some left over metro gel and put some in tonight.......

Now I am awake in pain and I think I have a fever, so I took some augmentin......

When I see ym Dr Wednesday AM (or hopefully sooner) can they still get a culture for yeast or BV while I treated my self over the weekend?

It may be a difficult to do an accurate culture. Be sure to tell your doctor exactly what you have used to treat yourself. You might want to avoid self treatment from now to Wednesday morning when you have your appointment.

I understand completely! I'm always and continuously dealing with and trying to self treat these two infections. It drives me insane! I have found a home remedy finally.
douching with Pa'de-arco (not sure if It's spelled right, but its close) releives and will even cure iether or both of these two infections. You can find it at a healthfood store.
If you have a problem with cronic infections, this might be extremely helpful to you, and its not expensive. I had to find something, I think my doctor was getting frustrated with my repeted visits and calls to his office. I know I was frustrated, and
with every visit, was humiliation, wondering what he thought about what kind of person I must be to continually get these infections.

Thanks for sharing Gabby!
I feel I should warn everyone I have heard multiple times that many of our members cannot tollerate any douching...I am guessing that the vulvodynia sufferers have to be extra careful.

Gabby, do you know what is id Pa'de-arco? Thanks

I believe it's an extract from the bark of a certain tree. Most health food stores carry it as a tea, which I tried on a recommendation for controlling yeast.

I've been struggling with BV for about 6 weeks now. at first I thought it was yeast. I finally went in for a culture. I was on cleocin, then flagyl. Still have traces of it. Am not on a week of metrogel. Hope that does the trick!! Hope you are feeling better too. liz
