Just kidding, I baked a fruits of the forest pie to take to my moms tomarrow and we heard a terrible noise, ran to the kitchen and my oldest Golden had pulled it off the stove to the floor and the 3 others were having a party. It looked like they hadn't eatten in days the way they were going at it. It gets better, I go to the store buy another one and a pecan pie to bake, get them done and thought I had them far enough away from the edge of the counter to cool, and bang the same noise............the same dog had tackled the pecan pie and another mess and another pie GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We found one trick that worked for a while to keep our doggie away from the kitchen counters --- I went to town and bought a bunch of mouse traps and set them along the kitchen counter and left some food there for bait. After the first snapping noise, I didn't even need to set the traps again.

Unfortunately, our little Meggie learned fairly quickly how to reach around a trap without popping it so it doesn't work for us any more.

We used to put things in the microwave to cool without the cats getting them. Gizzy is too old now to go prowling on the counter, but we had one cat who only ate molasses cookies!

Hahahaha... :) I am sorry to laugh at this, but it reminds me of what happened one year around here. I'd left some leftover turkey out while we were munching on it, went out of the kitchen figuring nothing would happen since my cat was just a kitten and our dog is a Chihuahua who couldn't reach the counter if his life depended on it... but suddenly, BAM!!! I ran in there, and the "kitten" had jumped on the counter, knocked the plate down for the dog, and both were sitting there with turkey in their mouths and guilt written all over them!!!!!

I make sure to put everything away now, even if I'm just leaving to go to the bathroom for a couple minutes!!!!!!
