Time frame to follow up with dr

When I was diagnosed I was given Elavil and Emiron and told to follow up with the doctor in three months. They'd call me in a couple months to schedule the appointment. I kind of felt left to deal with this new diagnosis & all that goes with it without quite as much support as I might have liked. Is this typical? I know Elmiron takes time to work and figured that was why.

This is what happened with me too. I think that they want to give time for the meds to work. I ended up changing my first appt after starting Elmiron from 3 months to 2 months because I had questions. They didn't even ever bring it up that I was seeing them earlier than they told me to.
