View Full Version : Biofeedback??What's it like??
Hi everyone again! im feeling a little bit better each and every day now or shall i say trying to maintain hope that there is some relief for my pain somewhere down the track! Just a quick question has anyone had luck with biofeedback for vulvodynia?? My vulvodynia symptoms are just slight pain on touch, sex, raw feeling and constant burning sensation-sometimes on urination..However my symptoms arent nearly anywhere as bad as some ppl that i have read that have this...so just wondering what's biofeedback like??Any sucess??I have even heard that for some its said to be almost a 50% permanent fix for many patients..and overall an 85% relief for everyone else....Whats involoved?and generally how long will it take for me to see improvements??? thanks again everyone luv u all :kissing: xoxoxox

I have had a biofeedback test done to see if I had PFD which I do. I haven't heard of it being used to treat vulvodynia. I really hope that it helps you.
Yes aparently its almost at a a cure rate for treating mild vulvodynia...And in saying so my syptoms arent as bad as compard to many others that have this disease! I mean i can stilll wear tight pants, walk, and sit down and even sometimes have sex whe the pain isnt too severe... So i have high hopes that it will definetly give me some pain relief!! But im just wondering what it involves like how does it work??And generally how long will i have to wait to see improvement?thanks xoxox

i'm not too sure what vulvodynia is (sorry, i probably should know...) but i have had chronic/severe incontinence for over 2 years and i've been seeing a phys. therapist for the past 8 months or so and we've done biofeedback for that. it involves sticking this sensor type thing (think oversized tampon) up you know where and then she hooks it up to a little pack that you can see when you're contracting and releasing the muscle. for me, it wasn't painful (just frustrating b/c sometimes my bladder contractions were so bad that it was hard to do the exercise)...dunno if this helps answer your question but just thought i'd put my .02cents in ;)
