I am so aggravated, embarassed and worried. My skin, everywhere, is dried out. If I put lotion even on my forearms, an hour later they look almost white again with dryness. Is Ditropan doing all this?
Does anyone put a drop of babyoil or mineral oil in their warm bath, (without any soap of course) and get along ok? I don't want it to cause me to burn down there. Any suggestions?

I use Neutrogena body oil, but I use it when I step out of the shower. I just pour some into the palm of my hand and put it on everywhere I can reach, then towel dry. It makes a huge difference. My hands are absolutely horribly dry, however. I get that way every winter and so far haven't found any real solution other than keep adding more lotion and bandaging the split areas.

This time of the year I have the same "battle". We got a new humidifier this year & it's helping. You might want to try using a body scrub to exfoliate your skin, you need to get rid of the dead skin before your moisturizer can do it's job (same goes for hands, feet & face!!) ALso, try using a cream it's more concentrated than a lotion is. I use THe Body Shop's body butters, they're AWESOME!!! I also use their salt(aromatherapy) scrubs. I used to think people were nuts when they told me to exfoliate 1st, now I "swear" by it!!! I have been doing it nearly every day for the last 3 years and I've noticed a big difference. If you do use a scrub that comes in a tub like container(basically anything other than a squeezable tube), put a small amount in a cup in the shower or bath & scoop it out with your fingers & use it that way, if the scrub gets too diluted being in the shower or tub it loses it's efficiency. Feel free to PM me with questions!!
Hope this helps:-)

Oh yes! Everything is dry. My hands are almost crusty. I do think it is enablex. When I dry out, it's dry! Only one arm gets really dry. It starts itching and then it bleeds. I got it under control for a month or so and now it's acting up again as the weather gets colder and the heat dryer. My lips get split. I use a lot of balm. Sometimes it seems that as soon as the meds get into my system the dryness starts. It's hard to turn pages with dry fingers.
I had a little girl in my office who had needed a time out. I let her sit while I did my work. I was paging through a book for some information. As I did that, I wet my fingers on my tongue to get better 'traction'. She said, "Why are you licking yourself?" What a hoot!
Gotta laugh

I got some mineral oil last night. I am going to put a couple drops in my bath water. Hopefully won't cause any infection or burning. I used to use baby oil or skin-so-soft in my water. Will use only warm water now. Used to enjoy real hot water. I wonder how much damage I caused by doing that?
