Hi Crazy Girl!! :welcome: Sounds like you feel like I do (did). I went through a time when I couldn't understand what was going on with me! Who was I and what did they do with me?? My personality and outlook of life changed without my permission!! I was always an optimistic, fun type personality. Ic seems to change you. You need to get some support to work with you and to help you to try and get back to your old self again! It really starts with a good urologist who understands ic. I thought I was the Ms."Stop I Gotta Pee!" but i might be 1st runner up!! :loco: Isn't it crazy when you think about how much time we spend on the toilet seat?! I'm now taking an anti-depressant and it has helped me alot! also you might want to ask your uro about B@O supposotories.I do these when I feel like I'm having to pee constantly! Hang in there!!Hollarback anytime!!!

I'm very glad you found us. There's a lot of helpful information and support here.
My IC was diagnosed almost 31 years ago and I have found that as long as I follow my diet, I do very well. Just remember that it can take a while to find which foods are a problem for you and which treatment options work best, but most of us do get there and most of us feel good most of the time.
Elmiron can take up to six months or more to become effective so don't give up on it until you've given it a chance. It doesn't work for everyone, but there are some who find it has given them back their lives.
Sending warm welcoming hugs and healing thoughts,
Donna

hey there, just wanted to say i relate and you're not alone. though i don't have IC, i have severe overactive bladder...for over 2 years now. i'm only 25. i've been to 5 docs, tried phys. therapy, most all of the meds, accupuncture, biofeedback, electri-stim, energy work and haven't had much relief...i go to the bathroom over 50x a day too, i can't do much of anything without being away from a bathroom and i do understand how much it sucks!!
please find another doc, one that will give you more alternatives and won't treat you the way yours is treating you. my first doc i went to for this told me to stop thinking about peeing so much and to try holding it in more. GRRR. if i had let him stop me, i don't even know where i'd be right now...don't give up hope!
