Hi everyone,

Just wanted to wish you all a very happy Christmas/happy holidays!!!

Hope the break gives you lots of time to spend with loved ones and that your IC/related conditions don't flare up too badly from the extra champers/choccy/pudding!

Thankyou to all of you for your support this year. I really couldn't survive this IC without your advice, as well as the fun conversations that distract me as well!

 :grouphug:

Merry Christmas to both of you and all the other aussies :)

I am dreading xmas day as there is a heat wave predicted for tommorrow onwards, reaching 40 by xmas eve and xmas day. I'm over the heat, my ankles are swollen like you wouldn't believe and I would just like to camp out under the air conditioner, not trek around for family xmas lunch / dinner! Sorry to be a downer, I've got 3 morw weeks of this pregnancy stuff and if It wasn't xmas I think I'd be drinking the castor oil to bring on labour and a nice stay in an air conditioned hospital!!!!!

Anyway, Kirsten you enjoy a lovely vego xmas with your partner and beautiful kitty and Andrea, hope Cohen gets all he wants from Santa :) and that you do too!!!!!

Hi Andrea, and hi Sara!!

Thanks both for your messages. Andrea, yes I will add a new bladder to my list of things I want from Santa, LOL!!!!

Sara, I can only imagine how much more difficult pregnancy would be in a heat wave - I hate the heat myself and spend most of it parked in front of my air cooler too, when I can. I hope the treks back and forth to the relly's go OK. And best of luck for the rest of the time - can't wait to hear the updates on the new bundle of joy when he/she arrives!!! We'll all be thinking of you on here.

Take care both of you, and stay well, :grouphug:

Don't worry Patricia, there are a lot of honorary Aussie here on the boards.
Happy Christmas to you.
But if you want to be a REAL Aussie, you have to sing "Six White Boomers" at Christmas time. If you can do that, you're in!

Merry Christmas Rosalie, and merry Christmas too to Barb and Patricia! Hope Santa brings you lots of IC friendly goodies and lets you off the hook to enjoy a champers or two!!! :grouphug:

Oh Rosalie, mentioning 'Six White Boomers' takes me back to my Grade 5 Christmas Concert....

"Six White Boomers, Snow Whi-ite boomers,
Chasing Santa Claus through the blazing sun!
Six White Boomers, Snow Whi-ite boomers
On his Australian run...."

Memories...... ;)

Well, I'm not a "fellow Aussie", but I will join in in wishing everyone A Merry Christmas/Happy New Year.

Its suppose to be Warm here around 60 degrees (Austin Texas), on Christmas Morning. I don't know, everytime I look at the weather station, it changes! I know when I went to Houston last weekend it was suppose to be in the 20's but it never did make it down that cold. Which I'm glad. (I don't like the cold weather!!)
This morning going to work they said it was 26 degrees - but it was going to warm up to 50 or so. ------

Mary, we are supposed to be in for a doozy today with an expected top of 37celsius, 98 farenheit. You hate the cold and I hate the heat! At least I'll get the washing dry early.

I could never work out the differences between the US temps. & ours here in Australia. Today you had a stinking hot windy day of 42 degrees ( thats really , really darn hot) I think it is cooling down over the next few days. So Chrissy should'nt be to bad

Rosalie..... In very simple terms could you explain the differences, or how to work them out. I am always confussed when i read the temps people say on here :loco:
Thanks Andrea

P.S Anyone else can explain it to me if they have the time
Thanks again :grouphug:

:) Andrea, where about do you live?, I live in Brisbane and the forecast for Brisbane is I think 37 degrees, they said on the news today that it's going to be the hottest christmasday on record, looking forward to that,...NOT!!
I used to like the hot weather, but now I cannot wait for winter.
Sorry I cannot help with the temp differences between the US and Australia, it always confuses me too.

Hi Martha,
I live in Mildura, Victoria.. It's at the top of the state on the Victorian & N.S.W border. We have really hot summers here, but also this time of the year is bad for lots of dust & winds.
Have a great Christmas & New Year. Best wishes to you & your family.

Hi there Andrea, I long ago forgot how the mathamatical conversion goes. I just log on to a web site like www.onlineconversion.com/temperature. I know its slack but hey, whatever works!
The forcast for Melbourne for Christmas is 25C and gorgeous!

Sorry that you are expecting a nasty one Martha. Your air conditioning will be working overtime I guess.

Well, its 10.50pm on Christmas eve, the tree lights are on and the pressies are plentiful underneath the tree, the bubbly has gone down very nicely thankyou and I am looking forward to Santas visit in the morning.
Here is a photo of our chrissie tree with lots of goodies. It will look a lot different in the morning!

And after Christmas day comes Boxing day, my favourite day. Sleep in late, get up in time to watch the the beginning of the Sydney to Hobart Yacht race, read some new books that hopefully Santa will leave, have a snooze in the afternoon and wake in time to watch the last session of the Australia v South Africa cricket match. What more can anyone ask for?
I hope you all have a wonderful day tomorrow and a very relaxing one on Boxing Day.
