Well, it's not as if any of the OTC medications are 'bad' for IC because they aren't put direct ly in the bladder... but what you may notice is that they can cause some burning and/or inflammation which, I think, due to the fact that we're already very inflamed down there.... and adding the caustic chemicals found in the some of the meds can be irritating..

Yes it seems like everything flares me or irritates me no matter what it is that is why I am asking. It is frustrating

Can you get your physician to prescribe Diflucan? That seems to work the best for me. In fact, I'm getting a yeast infection as I write and got my doc to call in a prescription so I can have something for over the weekend. You know how THAT is -- something always comes up during the weekend or holidays! That silly fellow Murphy and all his laws!

Hi girls: To make a long story short, I'm 32 weeks pregnant, have severe IC majorly irritated by chronic UTI (Group B Strep in Bladder) and a baby sitting on my bladder. Flare ups have become nightmares - worse than I ever thought possible. 3 rounds of antibiotics and now I have a yucky yeast infection to make matters worse. I Took over the counter cream for 1 night last Thursday and I was going every 3-5 minutes for hours - thinking death would be better than the misery I was in. I am still irritated, inflamed, itchy and feel like there is no hope. The pressure and pain is constant. I see my awesome uro regularly, but there is nothing to be done during pregnancy.

Has anyone else had this kind of problem with the yeast meds? Is it in my head? I've eliminated practically EVERYTHING from my diet - seriously - especially salt. Anyway, do you think the Diflucinan will help or irritate it worse.? I am taking Acidophilus and something my Midwife told me to try for UTI's Olive Leaf (it is an herbal supplement). Does anyone know anything about them? This is my 3rd day on them and no difference yet. I feel as if this will NEVER end. Dr. said once the baby is born things should get a lot better. I hope if any of you are planning to get pregnant you don't have to go through this....especially given there is nothing to safely treat IC with during pregnancy. Please let me know if you have any info. on my questions. Merry Christmas.
