View Full Version : Ack... Dealing With Blood...

I've been taking Elmiron and using Heparin instillations... both blood thinners.
Recently I've noticed blood on my catheters upon removal, and then last night I had bright red blood on my poop. I've called my doc and am waiting for him to call me back. It could be internal hemorrhoids a side effect of laying down to alleviate my IC symtoms, or it may have some relation to my medication. :hmm:
Has anyone ever experienced this? Recommedations and suggestions are greatly needed....

Yep, I agree with Tig, glad you called your doc, anything like that is important to ask about! It honestly could be a lot of things, best thing is just what you're doing -- getting it checked out! :)
Hugs!

I have to agree that it's a good idea to call your physician.

Well...
I waited and waited for a call and recieved none. I am feeling less and less confident that this doc considers me a human being. Everytime I try to have a conversation, i am shot down and my opinion isn't considered... I feel like a number not a person to this doc. I would like to hope that a doctor would take the time to atleast pick up a phone to help a hurting human... but recently everything has been a fight...
I am calling again in the morning, and I feel like I'm going to break down if I dont get a reply.

Well that really stinks! I know, it's annoying to wait for a call when it's about something that needs their attention. Have you thought about another doc?? Sounds like you aren't really happy with this one, so it may be time for some Doc Shopping, it's important that you and your doc have a good relationship! ;)
Hugs, and keep us posted!!!!

FIANLLY GOT A RESPONSE....
And to my relief... sort of... it's prolly hemorrhoids...
Apparently my doc has seen a lot of it in IC patients...
Now I know... and now I have to go thru the ordeal of proving it to my General Practioner....
