Brrrrrrr...Shiver me timbers...It's colder in Memphis than a well diggers butt in the Klondike. It is 11:00am and the temp is all the way to 28*F. The sun is shinning, but I swear the rays are frozen like icicles. It is even too cold for me to go shopping. Now that IS cold. ;) Winter hasn't even arrived and we are already in the freezer. Did someone mention Spring? Oh...It must have been wishful thinking. Or maybe the withdrawl from shopping causing me to hear things :loco:

In Winston-Salem it's a little warmer today, maybe high 30s, but last night we had a mini-ice storm!! Woke up to trees coated in ice and slick roads, but most melted by this afternoon.

Sharon,
It is Cooooollllldddd...........here too!
I spoke with a chocolate store in charleston S.C. yesterday and he laughed when I said we were in the 20's and they were in the high 30's.
Stay warm!
As for shopping, hubby can keep the car warm as you go in and out of the stores. :)

:hi: Here in Iowa, we've had temperatures in the teens and with the windchill it's been sub-zero temperatures. Thursday it was -16 and when you walked outside it felt like it sucked the air right out of your lungs, you almost HAD to wear a scarf over your face to even breathe. We have about 9 inches of snow here. I know how all of you feel. We've barely even started "winter weather" and I'm already tired of it. We'll have this kind of weather until next April. Ugh!

Hat and mittens required here!

It was really cold in my house last night we lost our electricity at 1 am and they didn't fix it till 12:30 pm . Someone hit a pole and made the electricity go out . I was really cold last night . It got to 36 degrees in here with no heat. But we finally got heat on now.

I'm with the rest of you on on this........I DESPISE WINTER WEATHER! We finally got up to 32 today after two weeks of really frigid temps and lots of snow. YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And yes, my bladder hates the cold, too. One step outside and it reacts immediately. The older I get, the harder this cold stuff is on me. Eons ago, when hubby and I were much younger, we both loved to ski and could hardly wait for winter to begin. After hubby's second back surgery, we had to give up the sport. Each winter since then it has become a little more difficult to tolerate the cold, snow and ice.

Now that we are retired, we spend our winters in warmer climates. We originally planned to head for Florida right after the holidays. Unfortunately, my gall bladder had different plans. It has to come out asap and I am scheduled for surgery this Thursday. I have to wait 3-4 weeks after surgery before my doctors feel it would be ok for me to attempt extended travel. So we're stuck here in cold and snowy Ohio until the middle of January. I am just anxious to get the surgery over with, start healing (no complications, PLEASE! ) and then get outta Dodge for the rest of the winter!

We have had residents without power and heat for almost 2weeks because of the ice on the lines, it made the power g o out so people have been seeking other shelters, schools have been closed also until they can get the power and heat back on. A few days ago it was -25.

My condolences to all you frozen ICers heading east, our high today was 62, but since I am moving to the east coast this summer, payback will ensue, I know.

Hugs,

So Barb, is that an invitation for all of us freezing here in the east to come and visit you? LMAO You'll be right here with us next winter complaining about the cold, but at least you will be far away from the in-laws.
