I had my first "procedure" done today-cystogram and CMG. The whole thing was very painful, and I was unable to tolerate my bladder filling up. Now I am to be scheduled for they hydrodistension under anesthesia. It no longer hurts to pee (thanks to the uristat), but I still hurt. How long is this to resolve usually?

Well, the in office cysto usually takes just a few days to get over. Sounds like you might have had a urodynamics where they slowly fill your bladder and ask you when you first feel the urge to urinate, the first pain, etc. etc. I've had two myself.
Why are you having the hydro??? Does the doc want to do a biopsy??? Hydrodistentions are now falling out of favor as a diagnostic method in lieu of the PUF questionnaire and KCL test. Check out some of the lectures on our site... inwhich various docs talk about their use of hydros, etc. http://www.ic-network.com/guestlectures/

I believe the main reason he is doing the hydro is in hopes of giving me some relief from the pain as some people benefit from the procedure itself. I was unable to tolerate the scope for very long, so I think he wants to get a better look.
I am feeling better today, just not quite up to par. I will check the lectures you mentioned.
Thanks!
Susan
