Well, I had the procedure yesterday. I went in at approx. 1030 am and started to come out of it about 1130. Left hosp. about 130pm. Went to the bathroom 2 times before I left. Some discomfort and minimal blood present. Took 2 darvocet before I left for pain and I believe that it did not agree with me. When I got home I crashed on the couch till 830am this morning.
Tried to eat crackers yesterday and drank water but my stomach was not ready for that. Feel better this morning, At least I can eat something, but I do feel some discomfort in urethrea area. Which feels similar before procedure. The doctor told my friend (she wrote it down for me) That the bladder looks healthy when filled. It held 1 liter. Saw a little inflamation, irritation-mild, no ulcer, tumor, polyp or stones. I may have interstitial cystitis. So I am hoping that the extension of bladder will help me with my pain. I was really hoping that I had ulcers so they could cauterize them. I feel that I don't really have a true answer.
But for those of you that are having this procedure, definitely take 2-3 days off from work and just relax. I know that I could not go to work today.

I am glad your procedure went well. :) When I had my cysto/hydro, I had it done on a Thursday, took Friday off, and then had the weekend to recover even more. It is good to take a day or two off to rest after this procedure, I think.
It is possible you have mild IC -- and hopefully with the right treatment you can start feeling better soon! :grouphug:

Hi
What is a PM? Thanks for the group hugs and thoughts... I feel better, but it does hurt down there, hopefully the pain will subside at least some.

:) Hi Susan, I hope the hydro works for you, it did for me, it relieved my bladder burning, I did not get diagnosed with IC, because my uro did not find anything abnormal, my bladder filled up to 500 ml,( half a litre) he said I got a small bladder, but I knew that already, anyway I am sure I have IC, I have all the symptoms, and pain. You may not have relief straight away, it took about 5 days before I felt a difference, but it made life a lot easier,
take care martha

I sure hope to feel a difference. Right now, I don't notice it. It feels the same that it did before. I still feel a bit tired. Could be that the pain med that I took did not agree with me at all. Thanks for the words...from everyone...and martha...I like your fantasy.

:) hi Susan, by my calculations you had your'e hydro on the first of december, so today has only been 4 days, I don't think you would feel any improvent just yet, because your bladder has been irritaded because of the hydro, once that settled you hopefully notice an improvement, I will keep my fingers crossed it will.
take care Martha

If you were on any meds prior to hydro did you keep taking afterwards? Or did you wait to see if there was an improvement without any help from meds?
