I definitely experience more pain sitting in a car, but not so much in my computer chair. Can you try a different chair to see if it gives you more back support?

Yes...try sitting on a pillow or the IC pillow in the icnshop. I found a recyling possition helps a lot. (that is just me)

Yes, I get alot of back pain if I sit to long. I also feel the muscles in the bladder area tighten, so feel all is connected.

I bought that special cushion from the ICN shop....but instead of sitting on it I use it as a backrest for my computer chair!!! It works REALLY well for that, my hubby likes it too!

Regardless of whether or not you have IC, it is important to get up periodically when sitting at the computer to gently stretch and move around so that you do not cause pain in your lumbar or cervical spine. A good desk chair and/or good pillow (like the IC pillow) can help keep your spine properly aligned and reduce strain. Here's a link to a site that has simple yoga exercises you can do at your desk (or when you get out of the car) which will help reduce tension and strain in your back: http://www.mydailyyoga.com/yogaindex.html
I advocate this very highly. I sit at a computer all day and also travel a fair amount (airplanes) so it doesn't take much for me to end up with a tight, sore back. When I visit my chiropractor weekly and do yoga regularly, it really helps keep my back in good shape. But I always try to make a point of getting up and moving around whenever I can, so the muscles and spine stay supple.
I love my IC pillow, although after a couple of years it is getting flattened! Time for a new one!

My IC pain is in mainly my lower back. When I was not taking Elavil it hurt pretty much all the time, but more so when sitting in one place.
