Can somebody please tell me what Prelief is, how it works, and how to get it, prescription or over the counter?

Hey there! Prelief is calcium that helps neutralize acid in foods that you eat. I take it before I eat any known acidy food (tomatoes, etc) and I also take it if I am not sure on a food. Depending on the food is how I decide how many I take, lol. The most I take at a meal is up to 4. I buy mine at my local Rite Aid, as my Kmart etc doesn't stock them. They can run me anywere from 8-10 dollars, and there's a 120 tablets in the bottles I buy. I know you can also get it in granule-form to sprinkle on or in food, but I can't find that in my limited-shopping area, lol.
I love the stuff, it's helped me expand my diet and eat things that I wouldn't be able to comfortably without it! ;)
Hugs!

Prelief is over-the-counter --- you'll find it with the antacids.
If you scroll to the top of this page and click on "Prelief" it will take you to their site and you can read about it. Also, there's an 800 number you can call and they will send you samples.
The granules aren't available in retail stores (at least they weren't the last time I checked), but you can order it through the web site. The samples they will send include the granules.

Dear Bby Brownz:
Traceann and ICN Donna are correct, except that we no longer offer Prelief samples. We now send our brochure with a $1.00 coupon towards your purchase of Prelief.
Prelief is an over-the-counter supplement (calcium glycerophosphate) that takes the acid out of acidic foods and beverages. We recommend that you take at least 2 tablets with each meal and snack. Prelief is taken with all meals, regardless of foods eaten, because while some foods are obviously acidic (e.g. juices, coffee, etc), other acidic foods are not readily recognizable as such (e.g. chocolate, baked beans, etc).
Prelief tablets are available at all Walgreens, Shopko stores, Schultz Sav-O stores, RiteAids, Fred Meyer stores, Drug Emporiums, Bartell Drugs and Medicap pharmacies. If you cannot find Prelief in the antacid aisle, ask the Store Manager (not the pharmacist). The Store Manager stocks the over-the-counter products and will locate it for you. The stores only carry Prelief tablets because they are so much more popular than the powder. The powder is available online www.prelief.com or by telephone, 1-800-994-4711. Prelief tablets and powder are the same formulation (and some people crush the tablets). It is a matter of preference.
I hope this information is helpful....
