I was feeling a lot better by Monday of last week. So good in fact that I was able to fly to California with my sister to visit my cousin and aunt for Thanksgiving. I was still okay until right before I got off the plane late at DFW airport Saturday night. Then the burning started. By 4am Sunday I was in a full-fledged genuine bonafide major IC flare. The burning has not let up at all. I spent all day Sunday in bed or on the toilet. I guess the traveling finally caught up with me. I had long nap from about 3pm to 9:30pm and guess what now I am not sleepy. So here I am with another round of late night posting on these boards. I guess I can be thankful I am on a leave abscence from work because the way my bladder feels right now I am in no condtion to go in to work in the morning. I also guess I should be thankful I had enough relief from this awful disease so that I could enjoy the holiday in California. But all good things must end, I suppose and I am getting a huge dose of IC reality. I hope this is a short-lived flare. I am soooooo tired of this disease. I want it to leave my body permanently. I want to be cured.

One thing we all have a tendency to do when we're on a holiday is to eat and drink things we really shouldn't. That along with the plane ride, could be what's flaring you. I hope you feel better soon.

Warm healing thoughts headed your way,
Donna

At least this flare stayed at bay long enough for you to enjoy your visit. I'm sorry to hear that it did hit, though. Feel better soon.

I'm sorry you're not feeling well! Hopefully the flare will subside soon. Plane rides can definitely be hard on an IC bladder. :(

At least it sounds like you had a nice Thanksgiving with family. I'm sure it was nice to get away for a few days and feel "normal" again.

Every nite I prey for myself and everyone with this disease. We all deserve a life. A life in which we can eat and drink what we want and even have sex without fear of pain for days. A life where we can be spontaneous and go on camping trips or sleep over a friends house with one bathroom next to their bedroom without worrying about disturbing them and being embarassed. A life that we can spend our energies on something else. Just venting. God help us all please!

PV,
The part where you say

sleep over a friends house with one bathroom next to their bedroom without worrying about disturbing them and being embarassed

Is so funny to me because I am currently planning to stay with a friend in Seattle during my onsite weeks at the midwifery school who has that exact setup. I had to ask her if she can ask her boyfriend is he will be OK with me peeing in a jar all night so I don't disturb them....

I hope you feel better soon, Texashoney, I feel so sad when I read of all those who are in pain or are frustrated w/ their IC. I too am flaring and mine started day after Thanksgiving. It must have been something in the food cause we had a huge Potluck sort of family reunion Thanksgiving so I did not know what was in the food and could not ask my family that I have not seen for years, to make there dishes a certain way to acomadate me, right? So I tried to eat only IC friendly foods but it was not easy, and I still got a flare!! Oh well, at least I had a great time w/ the family, it was worth the flare!! :loco: :) I think so...... :) Take care and God Bless, Cassandra

Thanx for all your support gals. I really appeciate it. I ate a few things I shouldn't have (especially desserts) but overall I did pretty good while I was away from home. Tonight I feel a tiny bit better but my frequency is still way up. I too hope and pray everyone that's flaring right now starts feeling better soon.
