This is part of my Christmas...an 8 week old female Australian Shepherd. She looks like a black and white border collie, minus the tail. She's sooooooooo incredibly cute, and so good. My dalmation worried me because he's my big ole baby, but he's been SO good with her...mostly because I've given him tons of lovins when I'm petting the puppy. We just got her, um, 6 hours ago now and have already spent 60 bucks at petsmart. We took her in with us and everyone went nuts telling us how cute she is.

I've got her a crate and she WILL be crate trained.....she's partly potty trained already because the breeders started her. She's gone outside, only, so far, but I bought some carpet cleaner just in case, and some potty training pads.

I can not tell you how happy this makes me. I am home so much alone, and since it doesnt look like I'm getting a job any time soon, I can devote all my time to my doggies.

I'm going to post her picture later, or tomorrow. You'll flip when you see her.....shes going to be a GORGEOUS dog.....and, she's ALREADY very smart! :)

My kids left Friday with their dad to go to the mountains, they come home today and they don't know about her. I'm so excited to show them, I'm beside myself!

I have a full fledged zoo here now, and I couldn't be happier! As long as it stays this clean in here and doesn't smell, we'll all be just fine!

:) :) :) :)

Cindy, my neighbors just came over to see her and they didn't want to leave. Ohhh me, I'm so happy. I just put her on a big blanket on the sofa and she was asleepin less than 2 minutes lol.

This is the best therapy possible for me.

When my ex and had just had Megan we got our first Aussie, and ever since then I knew I wanted another at some point in my life. He got her out of our seperation and I took the dalmation, but I miss that dog something fierce. She was visiting this weekend while he was out of town and that baby kept looking for a place to nurse....you should have seen the look on the older dog's face. :lmao:

Now we need a name......I like Kayla, Kiley, girly girl names....Tom wants to name her Layla (Eric Clapton, lol).....any girly girl suggestions??

I'm worn out and exhausted, it's been a long weekend for me, but what a wonderful way to end it!

How wonderful! Congratulations! They're great dogs. :)

I have an Australian cattle dog mix -- a bit on the hyper side, but very loving. And I get herded around all the time...

Welcome to puppy he** LOL . Ours is now 5 month and pure evil, no really just onary. We had a hard time agreeing on a name but I won and Elsie it was.

PS. Puppy pads are good until the dog gets bigger and the pad doesn't. They think they are on it peeing but really they are hitting the floor. We tried them with Maggie our golden and at about 4 months she out grew the pad and pee'd on the corner of it and got the carpet as well. Carpet cleaner was a good choice. Have fun with her

poetgirl, she's an australian shepherd so she's a different breed from an aussie cattle dog. The last one I raised wasn't hyper, shes just a working dog that has to be busy or they do get destructive. My other one used to herd the kids all the time. I guess this baby will be herding kitties cause there will be no more babies in this house lol!!

leslie, I'm taking her out about every 2 hours or so right now and hopefully in her crate she will be hesitant to poop or pee in it...at least at night when she's in in it...eventually anyway. I know with my other two dogs they didn't like messing up their little 'den', but wish me luck anyway cause I know that it's inevitable that she'll miss her pads (we got some at Petsmart), and just have some accidents.

I'm so excited.

Aw, Sandy! I bet you are in heaven. Just the medicine you needed, huh? :) Can't wait to see pictures of her.

We became dog owners for the first time this summer - a stray Basenji and then we went and got a black lab mix from the shelter. We love them. One can be evil (like Stasny described hers) but I really do love them deep down, the little stinkers.

Imustpee, Don't you just love those dogs?? I can't get over how smart she is, even at 8 weeks!!! I love blue merle's...my other aussie (that the ex got) is red/white. Shes a really pretty dog.

I've got pictures up now on another thread......calllled puppy pics. Figured I'd start another thread cause I'm such a proud new mommy LOL!

They're links to webshots where I have my album. These were taken quickly, but I'll get more up as she grows. You'd think I just had another child :lmao: !!

I know, I can't wait to start walking my baby girl either. I walk my dalmation, but he's hard to walk.....he's big and strong and he's a puller if he see's a cat or something on the road. I got him at 12 weeks and he'd been abused, so I didn't have that real early puppyhood to train him.

I'm starting tomorrow with the leash, with baths, with car rides, with nail clipping, all of that, so that it won't be a huge battle!

Do you have any pictures of your babies?
