neices b-day party

Well my neice turned 10 on thanksgiving. I went over to her dads house to give her a present on her b-day. They had her party today. I went with my 2 kids and a friend. They all had a blast. We were the only family from my side to show up. He had a lot of freinds and family over. We really had a good time. I promised my sister I would watch out for them & stay in their life. It was a long party! I ate stuff I shouldn't have but.........it was so good! at least I stayed away from the wine! It does look like their dad is taking good care of them which was a big concern to my sister.

wOW. Thanks for sharing that. I bet this is the hardest part of loosing someone, when you see what they are missing. YOu must love your sister's kids a lot. It's great that you have that closeness to them. They need you.

I am glad he had a party for her and you went... Just keep popping over and calling, he will do fine.. Men don't have the mommy thing in them.. I imagine he really is doing the best that he can, your a great Aunt to help there daddy get thru all this.

actually they were divorced not a very happy split. he has remarried and they have 2 children. i have only spoken to him about 1-2times in the last ten years. they have been divorced for the last 8 yrs.so it is a little odd.
