Hello everyone.
I just received notification of the next IC support group meeting in Melbourne.
from the letter:
"The next meeting of the Mercy Hospital for Women Interstitial Cystitis Support Group will be held on Tuesday, 6th December 2005 at the Mercy Hospital, from 1pm till 3pm. At this meeting we have a speaker who will talk to the group regarding information gathering on interstitial cystitis via the internet...."
"the meeting will be held in the Seminar Room, 4th floor of the Mercy Hospital for Women building. The seminar rooms are directly ahead as you get out of the lift. As always, there will be no charge for the meeting.
As this is the last meeting before Christmas we will have a Christmas afternoon tea, so if you could bring a small amount of food to share that would be fantastic"
The Mercy Hospital has now moved from East Melbourne to Heidelberg, on the corner of Burgundy Street and Studley Road, next to the new Austin Hospital. Opposite the Heidelberg station.
I hope to meet up with as many for you as possible this year.

Hi Rosalie,
I can't go.... I'll be in Tassie for a conference! Bwahhhhhhhhhhh! :(
So typical - if I was at work that week I could have skipped off to come!!!!!!!
I wanted to meet a few of you... oh well, there's always next year.

Hi Rosalie,
I too hope everyone is well.
I've been a bit quiet on here thanks to a rotten week - just got diagnosed with type 2 diabetes on Tuesday. I was a bit down about it earlier on but am OK now. But as I said to the doctor - at least it doesn't give me pain like my damn IC does!
It never rains it pours, eh? Good thing I'm used to restricting my diet - just have to add low fat and low sugar to the low acid requests.... !!

Hi Rosalie, Thanks for letting us know. I have most likely got my letter to let me know but I have had the most horriable IC week & been in bed all week, needless to say my mail is still sitting on the bench unattended. Unfortunately there is know way we can afford it before Chrissy. I am hopping to make an app. with one of the DR's in Melbourne early next year so I should try & tie both of the things together. Anyway have a good time & hopefully you can make a few more IC buddies.
Take care
Andrea

Kirsten, you are having just way too much fun! Diabetes and IC. No wonder you were feeling miserable.I hope you can get it all sorted out.
Andrea, I am sorry that you are having such a bad week and hope that you are feeling better today.Too bad you can't make it to melb for this meeting. Next one should be in march.
I'll still go if I can. I often think about Cherry and her daughter, can't remember her name. They were in a very difficult situation but I haven't seen her on the boards. Did you ever hear from her again? I think I have her phone number somewhere. Perhaps I should give her a call.

Rosalie, I was wondering if you knew what date the next IC support meeting was on in march? i was going to try & make an app. with a spec. next year so thought i might try & get it on at the same time as the meeting. If not, do you know the contact number for Christine Murray ( is she still the lady to call?) I would guess she would have a different number now that it has changed to a different hospitial.
Thanks Andrea.
Kirstein, sorry to hear you have such a yuck time with everyting. Hope you are feeling much better. :)

Andrea,I don't have the march date but it appears to be the first tuesday in the month.
However, the new number is 03 8458 4444 and there is a website www.mercy.com.au
which I haven't checked out. And Christine is still the one taking the support group along with Elizabeth Thomas.
Anita Clarke is still at the old Mercy consulting rooms in East Melbourne. I went to see a rheumatologist there today. Its starting to feel like home Ha Ha!
PS Just found another number..03 9270 2222 This is from the letter I received but that still has the East Melb address...Now I'm confused..perhaps they're using up old stationery :hmm:

Hi Rosalie, Hi Andrea,
Thanks for your kind words - am OK, just getting used to testing my blood sugar three times a day (can't get used to inflicting pain to myself and seeing my own blood.... !) I have to do it regularly until after Chrissy and then the doc will review it. Hopefully after that I will go down to only having to test it a few times a week.
Apart from that all is well - ironically my bladder has behaved for the last few days (touch wood) - maybe it senses I have enough to deal with already!!!
Hope you are both well. :grouphug:
Has anyone heard from Sara lately? I'd love to know how she's going as well.

Sara hasn't been around for a while. She must be due fairly soon. I hope she is well.
Hi everyone,
I haven't been on for a few days, went to Sydney for a couple of days and ate so many naughty foods and was ok, no change to the old bladder of mine. Haven't taken any Prelief yet, was going to then got into a flare, then had my periods. So will try it hopefully next week.
Spoke to Sara today, she is well, getting tired and has been in a flare.
She is due in January, so not long to go now.
I will be seeing her on Saturday and let her know that you asked about her Rosalie.
