I'm looking for some tips for traveling. I live in New Hampshire and have to travel to Baltimore for a family member's surgery. We're going down on Amtrak, not sure yet if we're coming back Amtrak or flying. I did upgrade our train seats to business class because I heard they're more comfortable and roomy than coach. As we'll be there for at least 9 days we found a townhouse to rent rather than stay in a hotel, so there'll be a full kitchen and I can stock up on safe foods. And we're renting a car so we're not dependent on public transportation schedules.

My IC and IBS have been fairly manageable lately, but then I stick to a pretty rigid schedule. I'm concerned that not being able to maintain my schedule will kick up my symptoms. Also, not knowing the area we'll be in and where all the "good" bathrooms are located.

I appreciate any suggestions or tips. Thanks.

With train reservations, as with air ones, it's a good idea to request seats near a restroom. We made a 12-hour train trip and the rest rooms were right under us, which meant I had to walk to the rear of the car to the stairway, then the length of the car to the restroom. And take IC friendly snacks along so you won't be dependent on train food. If you're like me, it won't take long to find those restrooms.
