Has anyone ever gotten results from a hydro if you didn't get results on the previous one in terms of pain relief? I got a lot of help with my first one, no help with the second one so I didn't try again. I'm wondering if before I agree to neuromodulation if I should try another one. The Dr. will do one if I want but he had never heard of anyone getting better if the previous one didn't help.

My first hydro (done for a dx) I got some relief, the second one was a nightmare. The interstim will not help your pain. (see link: http://www.ic-network.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21200)
it is used for frequency and urgency. I would thin if you had no help from the last one the results would be the same the second time around..

I had one that only lasted a few weeks --- then went on to have more and they have helped. It's not as overwhelming as having an implant. I think if I were in your shoes, I would seriously consider giving it a try.

Thanks, Donna, I'm thinking of trying again. The 2nd one the Dr. didn't stretch it out much, left it at 625cc when my previous one was 900cc and I've had a voided volume of 800cc several times in the last 6 mos. although I have pain with even a few drops. To Tigger gal, thank you, I'm not looking at interstim. I'm looking at a spinal cord stimulator which is placed much higher up and it's for pain, not urgency/frequency but I didn't reclarify that in my post. I hurt so bad today I can hardly write one outless make any sense. I just took two Azo which is my rescue plan. Hopefully that will help me make it through til Mon. when I can call about another hydro.
