What is the difference between CystaQ and Cystoprotek? I am confused by all of these products out there? Is Algonot the best company to order from, I know there is also another company that sells similar supplements?
Has anybody out there ever been "cured" by Cystoprotek alone with no other meds?
Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a "cure" that I know of - if not I'm pretty sure that we'd all be taking it.
CystoProtek is a dietary supplement that may help to rebuild the lining of your bladder and reduce inflammation. For some IC patients it can be the only treatment they need to control all of their symptoms. However, the average patient is usually on several medications and some may also need physical therapy to help with pain and Pelvic Floor Dysfunction.
I have been using CystoProtek for the last 4 years and am doing great; however, I also take hydroxyzine and topamax. Not every patient is the same, so you may not need the additional medications or therapies.
Ask your healthcare provider if you can try one thing for at least 2 to 4 weeks, if you are slightly better - your doctor may want to increase the dose of your medication. If your improvement comes to a standstill, your doctor may want to add additional medications and/or therapies to help control all of your symptoms.
There are many other products available for IC patients. Be careful and read all the literature available before you make an informed decision. Many products contain additional ingredients that may do nothing for your bladder; so why take them? Talk with other patients on the board to see what their experiences are with other products. This may give you an overall perspective so that you and your doctor can decide what's best for you.
Another dietary supplement that you may want to consider is Desert Harvest Aloe Vera; it is a wonderful anti-inflammatory and may help with many, if not all of your symptoms. Again consult with your doctors, before taking any over-the-counter medications.
I know that this is not a direct answer to your question, but I hope that it will help.
I suggest that you consult with your healthcare provider if you believe that the information above may be helpful; your healthcare provider will determine the appropriate treatment regimen for you.

I take Algonot Cystoprotek 6 a day and have had very good results. IT took about 3 months to work but I hardly know I have a bladder. No pain at all. I also take 7.5 mg Enablex which took away all pressure feelings. I still sometimes have frequency at night 2-3 times, but over all doing very well.

That is great for you. In regards to the Enablex, I read some of your other posts in the past to see what exactly it is. I tired Ditropan at one point and it made me worse, I had bad urinary retention, which I know the AntiCholergenics can do. Is Enablex also an anticholergenic? Is urinary retention a possible issue with it? Have you weekend off it or Cystoprotek at all? What were your initial main symptoms with your IC?
Thanks so much

Wow did I make a lot of typos in my last thread, didn't reread until I had sent. I meant to ask if you have WEANED off the Cystoprotek or Enablex at all?
Thanks
