Hi Ladies,

Just wondering how many of you notice a flare occuring just before your periods?

If so, I have a few questions:

1. When does the flare start?
2. How long does the flare last?
3. What do you do to treat the problem??

Any ideas would be great. It would appear that I am starting to flare around my period now!! What fun. :woohoo: Heavy sarcasm here.

Hello.. I have the same problem and I am even on Birth control.. But it is worse the week before my period.. My flare can last anywhere from 3 days to 7 days.. And it can start anywhere from the Sat before to the Wed before my period. It varies.. I know this is not much help. What does your flare feel like?

Hi Dees1977,

My period related flares cause an increase in feelings of burning, pressure and discomfort and frequency. They start at about the same time as yours and usually are gone right after my period starts. Weird! :loco:

Right around the time of my dx, my hormonal flares started about 2 weeks before my period, and would end about the 2nd day in...it was awful. Seemed like I had one good week in the month, lol. But, the longer I have been on my meds, that's not really much of a problem anymore. I also found in the beginning from ovulation on, to eat very friendly helped a lot!!!

Hugs!

I too find that... I am beginning to get used to the fact that my skin regresses to that of a teenager and then I flare...

For me it's 3-4 days into my period but I'm perimenopausal so I'm all screwed up at the right now. When I start to feel a flare I mix about 1 Tbls baking soda in 2 cups warm water and let it run down the genital area every time I pee. It can last 3-4 days but the symptoms of burning/pressure let up significantly within a day. A nurse that suggested the baking soda/warm water said it will normalize the ph down there that gets outta wack with our periods.
