Hi Ladies!
Tell me, please, what do you usually eat for breakfast?
What kind of cereal, oatmeal and milk are safe for you?

well I usually have toast and coffee... I sometimes eat ceral, but it dose tend to bother my IC. here is a link to the ic handbook http://www.ic-network.com/handbook/ there is a chapter for the IC diet.
Barbara's GrainShop cereal, Barbara's Shredded wheat, plain puffed wheat or puffed corn or puffed rice, Quaker Oats (regular or quick, NOT INSTANT), toast or bagel with cream cheese. The main thing is NO PRESERVATIVES. If you get cream cheese, be sure to get the one in the block. (the tub ones have acid preservatives in them).

before my remission I ate all natural cereals...plain, no milk because I couldn't tolerate it. I would eat egg white omelets on the weekend with IC friendly ingredients.

I also eat Barbara's brand cereal. Puffins original I like, also honey rice. they have it at whole foods and also my local store in the specialty food isle. I was eating french spelt toast with maple syrup, but now i learn that sugar is not an ok food. I find the diet difficult, but the pain is so much more difficult so i am trying. I keep finding i will make a mistake here and there. A learning process i quess. I eat canned and fresh pears quite a bit. Sweet potatoe, black beans, brocolli and chicken seem to be a staple in my diet. Also almond butter on rice cakes, since i was a peanutbutter freak. It is hard though, I love spicey foods, fruit and coffee, wine. six months ago i ate all that and was fine. All of a sudden they kill me?! It is hard to understand. Good luck to you.

I usually have an egg and toast, sometimes with a little bit of honey.

Kix cereal is ok for me. It has no artificial ingredients or preservatives. Also, some types of granola cereal have ok ingredients in them and are yummy! I do ok with 100% whole wheat squares. Baked pears are delicious.

I also eat Barbaras cereal and I can eat Kasha's Go Lean. It has lots of fiber in it and is good. I also found a organic instant oatmeal that is good.

I make my own pop tarts. I usually fill them with a chocolate filling, or a date filling. I bake them slightly, then freeze them. When I want a poptart I pop one in the toaster.

I usually eat organic wheat toast or some Wheat Chex... that cereal, or Cheerios, doesn't bother me very much but I have to be careful with cereals.

Sharon,
How do you make your poptarts? That sounds really good. I was wondering about packaged poptarts.

hmmm I skip out on breakfast food since they, generally, have additives that bug my IC even more.
Most muffins and, non fruit filled, pastries are the only things I'm able to eat, breakfast related

I actually do OK with cereals. I've had Frosted Flakes and Raisin Bran with luck. I also have had Fruit Loops and Oreo-Os with luck as well.

I got my poptart recipe off of the Food Network site. Under Alton's Browns Good Eats.
They are called pocket pies, or something like that. This show was recently on TV, so the recipe should currently be available on his site.
