Adding mine to the bunch. My dad is an air force veteran, he retired when I was 2, so I did not have to move a bunch. But I did grow up around Barksdale Air Force Base and I have nothing but the upmost respect for those that protect are rights of freedom, with out them we would not have it.... :grouphug:

The Vets (both military and their families) deserve our thanks and support.

The people who served our country during WWII are called "The Greatest Generation". It is so true. Without their service and sacrifice, who knows where this country would be? Would we, today, be living in the "land of the free"?

My husband and I had the privilege of being in Washington D.C. when the WWII War Memorial was being dedicated. What a beautiful place of remembrance it is. It brings home the feeling of pride that this country should have for our military...past and present.

Most of you know from my posts that I am an Air Force Brat and very proud of it. My father joined the military at the end of WWII. He also served in Korea during that war. He proudly (and quite handsomely) wore the uniform for almost 24 years before he retired. The sight of a person in uniform still bring tears to my eyes and joy to my heart. I am so proud of his service and will tell anyone I come in contact with that I was raised the USAF.

I want to take this time to thank those of us and our families who have or are still serving this country in the different branches of the military.

THANK YOU
