Dear Patient,
A recent warning was issued by the FDA regarding Avinza usage. Avinza is a
long-acting morphine. If you are currently taking Avinza, please pay close
attention to this warning.
Avinza is not to be taken with any alcoholic beverages at all. If it is
taken with alcohol, including over the counter products with alcohol such
as cough syrup, it may cause a sudden release of the medication resulting
in a fatal dose. As you know, we do not encourage alcohol usage with any
of the narcotic medications.
