For The Past 2 Years I Have Had This Dull Pelvic Pain And Painful Intercourse. 2 Years Ago I Had Twins And Had My Tubes Tied So I Always Thought This Was From That But Now I Know That It Isn't. I Have The Whole Urgency Problem Going On Right Now. I Also Have Noticed When I Go Pee Sometimes Their Is Little Peices Floating In There, What Is That?? I Go In On Monday For A Vaginal U/s And Was Wondering If Anyone Knew If That Would Show Anything. I Have Already Had The Regular U/s And Bladder Scan But I Don't Remember What My Bladder Can Hold But I Do Know That I Empty Enough. Right Before My Last Period I Had Severe Urethra Buring And The Day My Period Started It Went Away And Has Not Came Back Since But I Read That That Is A Sign Also. Please Tell Me What You Think, Does It Sound Like Ic??

I think I discuss this with your doctor, there are amny things to mimic IC, sorry to say. A hydro and cysto in the hospital under sedation, is an excellent way to fnd out.
do you have any other symptoms, besides painful sex and urgency?
keep us posted on how things go and how you are doing.

:) hi and :welcome: the little pieces floating in your urine is just from your bladder lining, it's quite normal to have, martha

I have to go with my buddy Tigger there, and also want to say that IC is a diagnosis of exclusion which means, nothing else has been found especially with some of the diagnoses that have symptoms that mimic IC. Diagnosis is the hardest period of time to deal with because you are in pain, feel rotten, and don't know why. Take care of yourself and hang in there, and know we are here for you.

Hello and :welcome: to the gang! I agree with the others, a good talk with your doc is something that will be very helpful! As already stated, there are other things that can mimic IC and it is a diagnosis of exclusion, like Barb said.
Are you seeing a urologist? Is your doctor familiar with IC? Please let us know how your appt goes, and just keep your chin up. ;) This stage of the game is the hardest, having a definite problem, but no name and no answer for it.
In the mean time while trying to find a diagnosis of something, have you read through the Patient Handbook?
http://www.ic-network.com/handbook/
http://www.ic-network.com/handbook/diet.html
The first link is to the Patient Handbook and the second is to the IC Foods diet list. You could try cutting out some of the well-known bladder aggrivators: coffee, tea, caffiene, citrus fruits etc... to see if that helps your symptoms calm down. For those who have IC, the diet can play a HUGE role in keeping our bladders happy! :woohoo: It can't hurt to try and see if it helps you out!!
Take care and I hope you get some info soon and a direction to head in!!!
Hugs!

The others have given you the best advice there is... talk to your doctor :) Discuss your symptoms in detail -- perhaps keep a journal and write down how many times a day you urinate, when, where, and if you have pain, and what you were doing/eating/drinking when it started. You can also write down where in your menstrual cycle you were when the problems occurred. All of this information will be very helpful when you go to the doctor. Good luck, and let us know what your doc says :grouphug:
