Not sure where to post this, there is an IC diet section but this is more regular diet-diet....

But I'm really happy that I'm finally (after something like 5 years of being overweight, and at one point almost in the obese category) in the 130's again (I weighed about 130 when I married hubby.) I was 139 today.

That sounds really heavy still (and it is a bit too heavy for me) but I'm 5'5" and very very large-framed (measured my elbow to check frame size and I'm off-the-wall large-boned.) So I always look, my husband tells me, like I weigh about ten pounds less than I actually do, because of my frame and musculature.

This past weekend one of my friends even said I looked skinny (and it was out of the blue, I never told her I was trying to lose weight or anything.)

I'm not skinny (yet) but at least I'm in the normal BMI category now and I feel such a sense of accomplishment and relief! I've lost a total of 36 lbs. now since the Bion was implanted. I hope to have lost at least another 14 lbs. by the time the one year appointment comes up. It would be cool to say, I lost 50 lbs. in one year! I sure hope I can do it. It's been kind of hard, I don't really like going hungry.

Anyway I'm really happy to be back down in the 130's at least. Sheesh, probably half of you guys here would feel horribly depressed if you were in the 130's but for me it's a good change!

Blessings, Lori
P.S. My nurse is so awesome, when I come for the various appointments, she notices how I'm losing weight each time and this last time (when I was about 146) she told me not to lose too much weight or I'd be unhealthy, LOL!) I told her I'd need to lose at least another 40 lbs. before I'd be veering into the unhealthy area, LOL. But I'm so thrilled that she noticed! That was so nice of her to notice.

:woohoo: Congrats!! If you can do it, I can do it... :)

I'm 5'5" and still weigh about 155 -- I'm working on losing about 10-20 lbs. I've lost 5 so far (I was up to 160, ugh) but still have those extra to go...

You probably look great just as you are, but I know if you want to lose weight, you can do it! If I can do it (I looooove all the wrong kinds of foods) then anyone can! Maybe we can keep each other motivated. It's awesome that you've already lost 5 lbs, that's an accomplishment! A lot of times it's harder to start a diet than it is to continue on it. You have to shrink your stomach down to where it will accept smaller portions and all of that and it's so hard!

Heck I was way bigger than you, I was 175 at my heaviest (eek!) I don't think my docs liked having to lift me onto the operating table at all....

Isn't it a great feeling to have your clothes fitting better or to get into a smaller size? :) We're going to do it!

Thank you for replying to my post, I was so hoping someone might say "congrats" to me.

Blessings, Lori

Thank you guys! :) Is it just me or is it really horribly hard dieting? I hate being hungry, grrr!

I am 5' 5'' and 142 now. I was 163 before IC. The stupid diet helped me lose weight. I have a naturally "curvy" frame though, I have a 36D cup size, so even at 163, I never looked fat, as far as I and my hubby thought, at least!

FYI: Hubby is not happy that I have lost weight since the IC diet....He liked me better at 163. Go figure! My personal goal is 135. I can't wait until I am at 139...the 130's sound too good to be true! (I just won't tell hubby...LOL....)

Thanks, guys! Massagedoula, your husband sounds like mine! Actually he is supportive of me getting down to about 125-130 but he says that I'd be too skinny below that weight (I'd love to be too skinny for once!)....I'm a 36D too, weird! And the strange thing is, I haven't lost hardly any of the "girls" with the 36 lbs. I've lost so far. (I used to be a 34B before I gained weight.) I wonder if they'll stay pretty much this size or not with the next 30 lbs. I hope to lose?

Blessings, and congrats on losing the weight,
Lori

good for you. I just can't stick with a diet, no will power at all.

WONDERFUL LORI YOU GO GIRL!!!! :woohoo:
I'm tall and when i was married i was 126 pds but after my first son was born i was 160. (i gained almost to two hundred pds when preg. Very unhealthy had high blood pressure uti the hole nine yards was in the hosp nine times before he was born. when he was born he was 8pds 3oz and they took him early.) I could never lose that weight :(
anyways it was in may when my weight started falling off. Why? because i was so sick i'm back down to 145. and to tell you the truth i never thought i would see 140 again for myself.
I'm also happy i've lost weight but the reason how i lost it is what i don't like. I'm back in my size ten pants (glad i still had some of them)
Keep it up hon! i'm so proud of you, but to be 5 5 really it doesn't seem like you was that big at all.
I think all of us ladies think we are big no matter what size we are.
I'm sure no matter what weight you where and are now you are still a very beatiful sp?

Thanks, Stasny and Dixiefireball! I will try to continue to stick with my diet! (I'm so hungry today though!)

Dixiefireball, that's terrific that you can fit back into your old clothes (I'm sorry for how it happened though, doesn't sound like fun at all).

Blessings, Lori
