Ok, all this talk about crafty stuff.....I thought I'd get creative carving the pumpkin. Mind you I wasn't happy cause nobody wanted to carve it with me but this made me MORE determined to carve the best pumpkin in the subdivision.

What I got was an orange ball with rectangle eyes, oh, but they are not the same size, a nose that I cant really describe, and the most awkward, lopsided, goofy mouth that you can imagine.

Think of a pumpkin that has recently had a stroke and you'll see MY pumpkin. It's MINE cause *I* did it, all alone.....sniff

LOL

Hey, it'll look good lit up, no matter what......I hope!

Mine looks like a little kid did it!!!! At least I got to eat all those yummy seeds....

Not like anyone is gonna see mine anyway...we live at the end of a dirt road on 5 acres of wooded land...not exactly trick or treaters heaven.....

:biglaugh: Sandy I had such a laugh when you said the pumpkin looked as it had a stroke, here in australia halloween is becoming more popular, my sister in holland is halloween mad, she's got all the halloween stuff, and she has the pumpkin out her frontdoor with a candle in it,but she is the :loco: one in the family haha, anyway what I wanted to ask while we are on the pumpkin subject, do you know of any nice pumpkin recipies?I love pumkin ( hubby hates it but that's his problem haha) we do the normal thing here like roasting etc, but I am after something really yummy, Americans are well known for their pumpkin, you know we see it in the movies, thanksgiving and all that, ( we don't have that here unfortunately) but if you do have a website for me I could use for recipies, could you pm me please, because we are not allowed to display websites on this board, thanks martha

Oh my pumpkins. We did 8 this year. I get together with my cousin and her two little ones. We did a couple with the kids and then Andrea and I got creative. 8 pumpkins and three and a half hours later.

If I carve a pumpkin without one of those carving kits that include a template for things, it looks like I'm in kindergarten. Even when I was in kindergarten I was terrible at cutting stuff along the lines :biglaugh:

Last year, hubby and I used a kit and carved this beautiful cat face into the pumpkin... this year I just cut triangle eyes and a crazy mouth and stuck a candle in the thing ;)

Since our pumpkin is still in one piece, I'll use it to make desserts. Martha, if you do a google search for pumpkin recipes, you'll come up with some really good ones.
