Well, I haven't had a flare in a month, and I have been able to walk for exercise again, which I am pysched about. I even went out dancing last night! However, even though I am eating very healthy and low-cal and exercising, it is near impossible for me to lose weight right now -- I think due to the Elavil I recently started. I feel very flabby and out of shape and gross, and I would like to start doing some weight-lifting and conditioning. I'm afraid of how this will effect my bladder. Can anyone tell me about their experiences and if this is something I should try?

I have found that I am able to do upper body work but a lot of lower body weight training leaves my bladder in a bad flare. Squats in particular seem to be very bad for my bladder. I use lighter weights and do more repetitions because the heavy weights also leave me sorer. Good Luck!

I can do upper also, but for lower, I have resistance bands, I put them around by my knees and can work outter thigh that way, also have a generic thigh master and it doesnt cause any probs for me. I do go to the gym now and use this machine that u lay on and u do your squats while laying and thats alright w/my bladder. Regular standing squats, not the best for me yet.
