Ashley, my 17 year old daughter works at a local hospital, thru the ctc program at school, so for half of her day is spent there.. Her job at the hospital is to clean up the operating rooms.. she dumps the trash, and gets the used scrubs, and takes them to laundry. They asked her if she would be willling to learn how to clean the entire room, to includ picking up the used insturments and such, and sending them to be sterilized, or what ever they do.. She accepted, and she may be learning to do that for the 2nd half of the year.... She really loves it, and comes home and tells me how much blood there is (eeeewww, I don't need to know that.) well.. Monday she came home and was a little rattled and I asked her how school was, and how the day at the hospital was, and she said. omg mom. there was a hit and run... some guy got hit by a bus and he died... and they walked by me with the body and he wasn't covered and I seen him...
I asked her if she was ok and she said yes, I asked if this is something she can deal with, and she said yes.. I then told her its ok not to, and if she wanted trasnfered out of OR then to ask, and she said. NO Mom I really like my job...

I am very proud of how she was able to handle it, and grateful that she loves her job, and has considered greatly to contiue on and taking some college courses at home....

You should try to steer her towards the urology department. Keep up the good work, Ash!

Your daughter will go far in life. It is evident that she is willing to help so many people. She is one of those special people who can do the necessary things that many of us wouldn't do...or couldn't do...(I would faint!). Kudos to Ashley!! :-)

Sounds like you may have a future operating room nurse, or maybe a surgeon, in your house.

You have a wonderful daughter. It sounds like she has found something she likes.
We need more people in hospitals who like their jobs.

nostalgic48 thanks bunches, I really hope so...
TexasHoney, you are right we need more people that care in the hospitals and doctor offices......
I really have a great kid, I don't say this just because I am her mom. Everyone that has met or talked to her tell me how, polite, sweet, caring and understanding she is. I wish you all had the pleasure of knowing her.
Ash has been going to church 3 times a week since kindergarten.. this was her choice. I ran into someone I knew and he told me he was a pasture of a church and asked her if she would want to come, and she said yes.. I figured like me, by 6th grade she would stop, but here she is a senior, and still going.. she helps with the teen group at church, the have sleep overs, camp, luck ins.. go skating, to the movies.. you name it they do it and she attends.... She goes to bed nearly at 8 or 8:30 every night, up at 6 and out the door bt 6:45 to attend student body at school. on tuesdays she goes to drama club after school, and 2 Saturdays a month.
She is a real go getter.. she dose all the spirit week stuff at school, and when they have the powder puff games at the beginning of each year, what ever the gals do to there hair she dose.. one year it took me 6 hours to do a million braids.... :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
she don't date yet.. but we do have frank call alot and she says, won't go with you, you cheated on your last girlfrind, but, I'll always be here for you.. he took her to his grad party as his date (he grad. this past year) and asked he if he can take her to her senior prom...
I could go on and on.. but I won't bore you with anymore. I just am so proud of her, and hope she contiues to do so well in lifehttp://www.freewebs.com/cindyshomepage/AShley%2010-6-small.jpghttp://photobucket.com/albums/c67/tigger_gal01/th_AShley10-6.jpg

Does anyone out there know how long it takes a bladder installation to work? I had my first heparin installation, was a little sore but feel better now. Does it take many of these to repair the bladder lining? I am anxious to know. Thanks.

Hi Nostalgic48!

From what I've read heparin works in reducing inflammation. I don't think it helps in restoring the bladder lining. Elmiron is supposed to do that. Most people have to keep doing them in order ton maintain their symptoms.

Marsi4,
Thank you. I have noticed some improvement and when I realize that I am not in pain...it seems so strange! I started taking Sanctura as well as Desert Harvest aloe. Elmiron is contraindicated for me due to my mother's liver problem...they were concerned that it might be something that I should avoid. Thanks for your help and concern. I really appreciate it!
