My doctor wants me to try a low-dose of DHEA supplement; my labs showed low levels. Has anyone tried it and found that it either does or does not hurt their bladder?

Thank you!

Diana.

Tell me again what it's for, I forgot. I know it's menopause related. Never tried it.

DHEA is made by the adrenals and is a catalyst for the sex hormones. Supposedly it is a great thing for mood and general hormone health. It's apparently not good to have too low a level.

Hi Diana! I am very curious about hormone therapy for IC (I'm 37) and was reading about the symptoms/IC flares caused by high levels of progesterone on the following site: http://www.onlineallergycenter.com/hormoneallergies/ (of which I seem to have all of them)

One of the treatments suggested there for high levels of progesterone and low levels of estrogen was a DHEA supplement. I'm curious what your test readings were and why your doctor suggested to try it. (My doctor refused to even test my hormone levels, so I'm hunting for another doctor).

Also, please share with us if you try it and what results you get - especially on frequency!
