Hi Everyone,

Have just started taking Cystoprotek for a week now. I am wondering if anyone can tell me how long it may take to see some results (if any) in decreasing my frequency.

Thanks

George

Hello:

It's different with every patient. Some patients start to see an improvement within a couple of weeks and some by the end of 4 months. If you are taking CystoProtek by itself, you may need additional medications to enhance the effects of CystoProtek.

With most IC patients a multi-modal treatment (more than one drug/dietary supplement/therapy) may be necessary to help control IC symptoms. A combination of drugs and/or dietary supplements may improve your chances at significant symptom control.

I suggest that you consult with your healthcare provider if you believe that the information above may be helpful; your healthcare provider will determine the appropriate treatment regimen for you.

I just got the quecertin without the vitamin C. Think it will work?

It may work. Quercetin, has anti-inflammatory and mast cell inhibitor properties, this may help your IC symptoms. The questions is how pure of a product are your getting? What's the source? It is important to note that quality assurances and controls are very important in the medications and dietary supplements we take. There have been several instances where generic drugs have had problems with their drug because they've used a different quality of an ingredient and found out that it was not working for the patients. It is important to check out the source and make an informed decision.

The key to symptom relief is to find the right combination of medications, dietary supplements, and physical therapy that works for you.

I suggest that you consult with your healthcare provider if you believe that the information above may be helpful; your healthcare provider will determine the appropriate treatment regimen for you.

It took 3-4 months for Cystoprotek to work well for me. I read on the IC Handbook site that taking over the counter Quercetin is not regulated by purity or dose, and Cystoprotek is. If you are allergic to things then you are better off taking the Algonot product.

Dr. Theohorides, who developed Cystoprotek, said in his recent guest lecture that it can take 3 to 4 months for all the mast cells in the bladder to get slowly calmed down by the Cystoprotek.

I noticed some improvement after only a few weeks on Cystoprotek but it takes about 3 to 4 months to get the full benefit, taking 6 a day. After four months you might be able to go to the maintenance dose of four a day.

I got some relief from CystoProtek but I didn't keep it up which I now regret. I have some ordered now and I'm going back on it. I hope it helps all of you.

Well finally started Cystoprotek - have already had cystistat instillations so hopefully will see the good effects in less than 3 months! Just recovering from a UTI now so may take a while!
