I have been gone all day during various church activities. Just as I was turning into the complex parking lot I see .... FLASHING RED AND BLUE LIGHTS IN FRONT OF MY BUILDING!!!!!
PANIC!!!!
Did I leave the stove on? No - I didn't cook this morning.
Did I leave a candle burning? No - didn't light any today.
As I got closer and parked my car, it was an ambulance and 2 police squad cars.
Hey!! Wait!! The paramedics are here! .... AND They are NOT here to get ME!!! :biglaugh:
I have no idea why they were - my guess is domestic problem if they took someone in the squad car.
I hope the person they took in the ambulance is okay ... but I still can't help but be relieved that it wasn't me this time!

Glad it wasn't you this time! I had a similar situation happen to me... I'll try to make it short, LOL!
We have a security system at home, with a "panic button" on our key rings. I was babysitting a 2 year old a few years ago, who had a fetish for keys. One morning he and I went to pick my kids up at school, and when we came home, there were 13 police cars up and down my street, and the adjoining side streets.
I pulled up as close as I could to the house, and an officer came to the car and asked if "I" was "me". Gulp... um.... not sure? What did I do? LOL!
Seems my little two year old darling had gotten the car keys as we were getting ready to leave, and pushed the panic button! Since it's the "panic mode"- the alarm company doesn't do a "Welfare Call"- they just send the police. What really made things worse was that I had chosen THAT day to totally gut the bedrooms and family room. So- when the police got there, it looked like a crime scene! Bags of paperwork strewn everywhere... two chairs overturned so I could vacuume under them, sheets off the beds, etc. What a mess!
Of course, the doors were locked, and the dog wouldn't let the police in the back yard, so all they could do was look through windows at what looked to be a horrible break in, or worse.
After my heart stopped pounding, I thought it was rather amusing, wish I could say the same for the police! And- it just goes to show... when the house is at it's worst, that's when people show up. I was sure CPS would be knocking to take the kids, since the house was such a mess... not dirty, but you know how it gets when you do serious cleaning. Always gets worse before it gets better. I wanted to call the police the next day and have them come back to see that we don't really live like that! :)
