Hi Guys... :hi:
I am back from my trip to Florida. It was so wonderful. Many would say that the weather did not cooperate with us, but we thought it was very interesting and a lot of fun. We were on Amelia Island at Fernandina Beach. TS Tammy came right over us on Wednesday night, the 5th. The waves were 10 to 20 feet high. The condo we stay in is set back from the beach far enough that we did not have any problems. Since we were on the 4th floor of the building, the view was amazing. After the storm, the shell hunting was great. I brought home two huge grocery bags full of them.
Since it was our 25th Wedding Anniversary, we went to the Ritz-Carlton Resort on the Island for our Anniversary Dinner on Tuesday night, the 4th. The storm was in the beginning stage and the view from our table was great. We watched the waves and sheets of rain while dinning in candle light...Very romantic.
We really had a wonderful and relaxing time. We did have some nice beach weather while we were there and my husband took some great digital pictures. Since he took a lap top computer with us (he's a nerd and doesn't go anywhere without his computer), he even sent some pictures he shot of TS Tammy back here to Memphis to our local CBS TV Station (Channel 3) and they put them on the evening news the night of the storm. Of course, we did not see the broadcast, but some friends e mailed us telling us they saw them. Hubby was very proud. :)
