View Full Version : Need new jeans! Any IC friendly jeans out there?
Hi all,
I've lost 12 pounds & realized today that my jeans are falling off me! Hooray! (This has been no easy endeavor.)
Minor problem, I had these great jeans without a waistband (got them at Elizabeth store for sizes 14W-24W) that now don't fit.
In their sizes I was a 14W, in "regular" sizes I think I'm a 16 short (when I take into account needing IC-"space").
Anyone found any particularly IC friendly jeans? I'm not a big fan of clothes shopping, so want to minimize the experience, if possible.

I like either Bill Blass or Lee jeans with the small piece of elastic in both sides. I think of the two I like the Blass ones best, but I have both brands. If I buy any other kind of pants, I go for the stretch ones simply because they have a little more "give" to accommodate my very changeable waistline.

Lauren jeans by Ralph Lauren--about 50 bucks at Macy's, Dillards, Robinson's May--a little more expensive but mine have lasted about 3 years. Not only do they have jeans all the way up to like size 26 or 28--they come in petite, regular, and tall. Very comfy with a decent amount of room for the belly and bootie.

I've always had trouble with jeans because my hips are too big (proportionally) for my waist. But I have good luck with the Liz Claiborne jeans. They're very roomy in the hips, thighs, and rear, so might leave you enough room for comfort.

I am a Liz jean person, I lvoe them. Also, a little pricey.
What's up with the sizes on these things?
I found a great soft pair of Cherokee jeans at Target, size 14 (have to have them hemmed since they don't have petite or short size). Then I went to Mervyns & most of the size 16's were too small!! (So, I left the store immediately to heal my bruised ego. Did not however, indulge in the ice cream cone my ego was demanding!)

I think it's getting crazier and crazier how sizes can vary. I've got to the point where I hold something up instead of looking at the size on the label. I have things in my closet that fit and are marked anywhere from size 14 to size 18 --- one size 18 T-shirt is smaller then the size medium hanging next to it.
And the "stretch" shirts are horrible.

I can't wear jeans for long period of times. I find the stretch denim work best for me. I own alot of pajama pants !

I recently bought Lee Riders at Walmart and they are very stretchy and comfortable. I too had a hard time finding a comfortable jean and had looked at every department store and brand. I really like these.

I used to love the Lauren jeans. But now like most of the others they are cut way below the waist. I find it hard to find any size 10 jeans that aren't cut for a teenager.

I wear Faded Glory Stretch from Wal Mart. They come in denim, black and biege. They are great...no waist band and stretch very comfortably over my belly. There is a problem with them, though. They do not have pockets.
