Flank pain.., stone?? What should I do??

Not sure where to post this but I'd really really like some imput from you guys!
My IC has actually been good, very good doing the preservatvie free instills!
The problem is I also I also live with chronic infection and MSK which has given me two kidney's full of stones!!
I am HURTING!!! I test my urine and have had blood with no infection several times!!! MY GP did a blood test and no increased white cells and I am on both a natural and low dose anitbiotic!! I feel like I have a stone!!
I saw my URO today!! He is a great doctor but his response was confusing..., he ask if I was hurting bad enough for an IVP :mad: .., I have no insurance and we had done them several times before only to have them show nothing. They cost me over $800 and truthfully the clean out and dye set my IC (which is currently happy) into a flare!!!! He said he wasn't pushing me..,
I agreed to have KUB done. The URO told me that a stone may or may not show up on either one, and if my kidney is obstructing that could change two hours later but basically at some point we had to do something to check it..
So right now he scheduled a KUB($200) for 2 weeks. Since I' m due to have my stones checked any way, I'm to do it even if I'm not in pain! If it shows nothing and I am still hurting down the road, then we do an IVP... :toilet:
My question is this.., the stone thing is soooo confusing just to know when to test and when not too!!
Second if I have to do and IVP and also because I really try to clean out before a KUB too! What can I use that won't hurt my IC??? What clear liquids can I eat too, the day before! Is there anyway to help the dye not burn my bladder???

I am having an ivp this morning . I didn't know it could send you into a flare. I also have kidney stones.

It may not send you into a flare.., it doesn't some! I react to preservatives and lots of things, I think that's why it bothers me! If you made it through the cleanout process without a flare then your ahead of me!

When I had my IVP it did not irritate my bladder. The only thing I noticed was a copper-like taste from the dye.

I am having an IVP on Friday. How nessecary is the bowel prep? The reason I ask is that I have a severe case of IBS and often their cleanout methods send me to the er.

The bowel prep unfortunatley in VERY important for them to see well!! No fun but important! I had two in the last two years before I knew I had IC. They increased my urine sympomtoms, pain and I even had blood my urine! I really think now as I read the labels on the prep meds. it is probabaly all the additives and preservatives in them since we know these cause me to react! Wish I could find alternatives~
Also what do you guys eat on the liquid diet day??? This may be my first one on the IC diet. Other then homemade chicken broth what can we eat? I can't do jello anymore or boullion???
