How soon after a hydro would you go in to be tested for a UTI?
I believe I was given IV antibiotics both before and after the hydro but 3.5 days have passed and I still have a lot of pelvic burning.
Should I just wait another week to see what happens or get my urine checked soon?
Thanks from Japan,
Erin

If you feel like you have an infection, by all means have it checked --- if you do have one, it will only worsen if you don't begin treating it. If you're having that burning, goosepimple-type of pain, it could very well be a UTI. Any time we have anything inserted into the bladder it increases the potential for infection.

I agree with donna since IC can sometimes feel like we have a uti and we are unsure its best to have it checked if not it will get wrose then you will be in a heck of a mess. trying to heal from surgery and a uti is the pits. take it from someone who knows!!!!
Please call your uro in the morning to be tested for a uti asap.
if a uti is left untreated it can cause serious damage and more pain then we want to deal with a uti can travel up into the kidneys when that happens most of the time a IV anti is the only thing that will take care of it and sometimes a few nights or a week in the hosp may be in order to get over it. so please get it checked. The last thing you need is something else to stop the healing progress.
best wishes and please keep us updated.
remember we care and are here for you.
sending you hugs and prayers

Thanks so much for your advice.
I had told my company I'd be off until Wednesday at the latest so I may as well take the opportunity to go back to the doctor before I have to go back to work!
