Hi everyone,
I'm the OAB-not-IC girl. (I need to get myself a signature so I don't keep repeating that!) I wanted to say thanks to you all. I've been reading through lots of messages on the forum and it's so great to see how encouraging and supportive everyone is here. I've also been inspired at the way people here - not just the Australians - are real fighters. There is another forum that I contribute to, which I don't want to denigrate, because it too is very supportive, but the main topic of conversation there is generally about which pads/nappies are the best. There's little discussion of diet, medication, alternative therapies, surgery etc - all of which are relevant to people with OAB/inco as well as those with IC. You have all, indirectly, encouraged me to get an appointment with a urogyno here in Melbourne and start the process of trying to heal my bladder all over again. I've made an appointment with Anna Rosamilia - perhaps some of you know her. I saw her two years ago, when she put me on medication. When that didn't work out, and I just stacked on 6 kilos in a month, I gave up and didn't go back. I quite often seesaw between optimism and despair with this bladder of mine. Anyhow, I can't get in to see her until DECEMBER, and will have to keep my spirits up until then!
I will write another time soon - I've noticed an astonishing number of parallels between IC and OAB symptoms, including those that are related, such as a tendency towards IBS (all these acronyms!) and have been meaning to share these with you.
Best wishes.

Hi Crybaby, great to see yet another Aussie on the board, there is quiet a few of us gathering here now which is fantastic considering the lace of awarness we have here in Australia. I was considering an App. with DR. Rosamile as I had heard she is quiet up to date with the whole IC thing. I did attened my first IC support group meeting in Melboune at the begining of the year in which she was a gueast speaker & found her quiet good. It just the whole & hour trip from here in Mildura where I live & the expense of it all that I haven't done it yet, but hopefully in the future some time.
ANyway I better go as it is after midnight here & must attempt some sleep.
Again welcome & hope to see you here again.
Take Care
Andrea :welcome:
