Hi Kathi,

I've tried to log in to chat this morning but just can't get on. The time is correct so I suppose it maybe my pc or a software problem. It's a shame as I would love to chat to you all.

Have any of the other Aussies been able to log on this morning?

hi, kathi, i have tried too, could not get in, i'm sure it's got to do with the software, ( java sun???) too bad, i was looking forward to it, kathi, do you know if java sun is something we could download for free?? any info is really appreciated, and thanks very much for keeping us updated with the chats kathi, martha

Hi Martha & George - I managed to get on and have a chat with a few lovely people. I'm not sure why you guys didn't get on today. I'm not very technical so probably cant answer any questions on Java sun. I didn't have to download anything, I just logged on.

Hopefully someone has an idea why you guys couldn't get on.

My chat was short as I had to go out. But it was great chatting to you all.

I am stumped Martha, I don't know how I managed to get into the chat and you couldn't. I used the same user name as this one I am using here. I wish I could suggest something. Hopefull someone can shed some light.

Glad you could join us nss. I just emailed by brother who has a BA in Computer Science to see if he could help me figure out what the problem is with getting into the chat room. Hopefuly he can have some ideas.

Thanks Katrina for looking into the problem. I just don't know why I can't get on to chat. I'm not very computer savvy I'm afraid!

My brother's reply to the email:

If it is a problem with Java they might need to download the latest version of the java virual machine. They can download it at http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp Or they might have a security issue with it. In IE under the settings/ advanced there is a check box to enable the Java for applets that needs to be checked.

Hi George, I just checked with my DH and he said you would need to download Java as Katrina said. Apparently we have that on our pc and that enabled me to chat the other day. Hope that helps.
