After the procedure I had a little burning but nothing too bad. Well last night when I went to bed, I had a lot of pressure and had to go to the restroom more then before the procedure. My bladder was fine until I had this.. Now I feel pressure to go after an hour or voiding... IS this normal?? can the procedure have irritated my bladder to make it feel this way??? I talked to the dr.s office and they said if I still have this on MOnday to come in and make sure I do not have an infection. But this does not feel like an infection, it feels like it did when I was having bladder issues.....
TIA

It does sound like you may have an infection brewing. The procedure can be irritating for a few days up to several weeks. I usually feel pretty good within a very few days.

It can be from the procedure. If you start to really hurt bad after urinating go to one of those walk in clinics over the weekend. That is a sign of an infection.

Hi!

First I want to say I am so sorry you are uncomfortable.

Yes, It can make you feel like that. I remember one of my hydro's, I called my doctor in tears I was in so much pain from the pressure. She was willing to put a cath. in for 24 hrs. I asked her what my other options were and she told me to double up on my meds and wait one more day...I did and it went away.

Everyone is different & I would always follow the advise of your own doctor.

Heating pad helped me too...might want to try that if you haven't already & some pyridium.

Good luck, I hope you feel better real soon :kissing:

I am not in pain, I just have pressure like I have to void but I hold it until 4 hours or so. It is just like the bladder pressure I get when I guess I get a flare up> I feel fine when I void. I will wait and see what happens and deal with it on MOnday... I have not had a UTI in years. SO who knows....
THanks , YOu guys are wonderful..

I had the hydrodistention done on 8/26. I didnt start feeling better until 2 weeks after the procedure. In fact, I actually felt worse after the procedure than before. I read in an IC Book that it may take 1-3 weeks after the surgery until you start feeling better. If the doc gave you antibiotics for preventing a UTI, that probably isn't your problem. The recovery is different for everyone so dont lose hope just yet:)

For me, it is always DAYS, if not WEEKS after I have a cysto w/hydro done. (Which I am due for one, and dread it!!) My doctor said that it can happen because she expanded my bladder (stretched it), my bladder bleeds upon distention, and that is why it is discomforting (sometimes downright painful). I'm always given a pre-op antibiotic and sent home with an oral one after to ward off infection.
Hope it subsides for you real soon.
