I've been in a permanent flare since the start of June, mainly due to my bowels not being able to empty properly, and it's caused my IC to be very bad indeed (I have hours where it's every 3-4minutes, but generally every 20 minutes).
DR did a rectal examination today and basically said she felt my womb/uterus was lying very heavily onto my bowels, which is making my IBS worse, which is making my Interstitial Cystitis worse *sigh*.
She's given me the name of a herb to try I think it's called "waterfill" (could be "waterful" or "waterfall "- i cant remember!) anyone heard of it? During the rectal she couldn't feel anything stuck in my colon even though I've been going very small amounts at like 8 times a day.
She said normally that they would give someone waterpills which would make them pee not but obviously having a bladder disease can't give me those. She said she wouldn't make me face the horrors of an ultrasound though and said it's out of the question because she knows how upset I get just at the thought of it. I had to try them before being diagnosed with IC, and couldn't manage it, despite them doing the scan and holding water in for hours nothing would show up so they just told me I wasn't drinking enough (trust me, I was!). I'm wondering, maybe this is why they couldn't see anything (I've heard that can happen with tilted uterus')but my bladder condition is a million times worse + fully developed since then. Also said it can be a sign of endo but she'll leave it for now and see how I get on.
She's said to keep the phone appointment on Friday so I guess I should probably ask all this to her too, I didn't think of it all today, I was still in shock after the examination.
