I have an appointment with a urologist in October for possible IC diagnosis. My problems started in June with a UTI (treated with Macrobid) and then progressed in early July to a kidney infection (treated with Cipro). I had a severe reaction to the Cipro and was taken off it after 7 days and put on Doxicycline for 7 days to be certain the kidney infection was gone. Urine culture was clean in July and subsequent culture in August was clean. At this time I am experiencing some delayed reactions which I believe are related to the Cipro and am wondering if my current bladder problems could be related to the antibiotics taken over the summer. Has anyone experienced urinary frequency or other symptoms of IC after taking Cipro or Doxicycline? I would truly like to believe that my current bladder symptoms are leftover reactions to the antibiotics and not IC.

I don't have an answer for you, but wanted to tell you I think seeing a urologist is a step in the right direction.

I have not been dia. with IC yet offically but since beginning to read more about it, I am pretty sure this is what is happening to me. The dr. has to do more testing. I am so Thankful to have found this website. When I am in pain it seems that this is where I find comfort know others are out there going through the same thing. God be with you all and comfort you in your time of need! I have lots of questions, I have found this post SOOOOOOOOOOO helpful. Thank You- Jen

Jen,
Welcome to the ICN! The time prior to diagnosis is so hard because of the trial and error with interventions and getting the correct diagnosis as well...You will find tons of support and encouragement here and people to lift you up when you need it most.
Hugs and :welcome: ,
