I'm looking for recommendations for some good, gentle exercises. I've gained a LOT of weight lately because I've been in a lot of pain and discomfort, and the last thing I want to do is work out....and the first thing I want to do is comfort myself with ice cream. ;) I have a lot of other health problems besides IC as well, so any exercise program would have to be simple and gentle, I think. I will absolutely discuss it with my doctor before starting on any program, but I just wanted to get some ideas from fellow IC-ers. Has anyone tried the Yoga video from the IC Shop?

I walk on a treadmill at home. You can always go slow and just walk for longer. I also have a home orbital machine- again, low resistance- which has no impact. And a bowflex. Weightlifting should be great for you. It doesn't have any impact, but you can still sweat and tone up.

I love my pedometer...........I can't pump out a fast pace, but I get over 10,000 steps a day average. Also, weight lifting as TabbiH said.........or try resistance bands.......they are less than $5 each and you can mimic the strength training of weights without the weight.

Yoga is good for many also......they have a yoga tape available on ICN or you can look at the ones I have on my website.

I still vote for walking............smiles

I started exercising with yoga, then walking & now I use the elliptical trainer & rowing machine at the gym.
