urine test strips

:) hi, do any of you know if those test strips to test urine are available in australia? i would like to be able to check my urine at home, but i'm not sure if we can get them here?? thanks martha

Both Sara & I have the urine test strips. I asked my Dr for some about 2 years ago and he was happy to supply me with some. I do have to pay for them, I think I pay about $15 for a box of 50 (?).

They are called N-Neosticks. I ended up asking my Dr for some as it was costing me a fortune running to the Dr, sometimes 3 times a week. Each trip was about $40 so you can see it was getting expensive. So it worked out cheaper.

Why not ask your Dr for some and see how you go. It does give both Sara and I some peace of mind when we are in flare.

:) thanks nadia, i will ask for some next time i go to see him, i know what you mean about the doctors cost, it cost me 40 bucks too, and we didden't have a medicare office close by for ages, and it takes about 3 weeks to get a cheque back, thanks again martha
