Hello all.

I'm 9 weeks pregnant and have been suffering from a wicked IC flare up for the past few weeks or so. As often happens after a flare, I find I have a lot of pain in my vaginal area, and though I haven't been diagnoses with vulvodynia, I'm pretty sure that's what it is. Now the IC isn't so bad, but the vulvular pain is really getting to me.

I drive about an hour to and from work everyday, and this past week it's been pure torture to sit that long in a car. It's also quite difficult to sit all day at my computer chair while I'm in so much pain.

Does anyone else suffer from this, and what remedies do you recommend that would be safe during pregnancy? Does taking tylenol help?

Thanks for the help,
Cheryl

I have Vulvar Vestibulitis (one form of Vulvodynia) and I find that a cool wash rag on the area helps when it begins to burn. Tylenol hasn't helped me. I am not sure what else could be taken during pregnancy in regards to that, but at your next appointment with your ob/gyn you should ask them to test you for it. The doctor will test your vulvar area with a Q-Tip to see if it becomes swollen, and that will tell them if you have Vulvodynia or not.

Good luck,
Jess
