Hi everyone,
I have been told i am not drinking enought water, could it be the water i am drinking making my IC flare.
Someone mentioned to me to only drink distilled water and the water we buy in the store thats bottled can be just as bad.
I was wondering what your views are.
Also this am i woke up, no pain, than pain starts i didn't eat anything but 1 small little over cooked egg, why is my IC being impossible to control?
Not even my pain meds are working now!!! :cussing:

Hi I am sorry you are flaring right now. I personnally do not have a problem with bottled water. Although some on here have mentioned that they do and certain bottled does not bother them as bad. You were most likely told you are not drinking enough, because water seems to dulite (sorry for the sp) urine, making it less acid. But be careful to much water could make you go to the bathroom more. I drink Ozarka water and it does not bother me.
With this disease you will find what bothers some people, might not bother you and reversed. It takes time to figure out what bothers your bladder and what does not. Also you can flare from alot of stuff, stress, foods, drinks and illness's just to name a few. Also sometimes it can take a day or longer for a food to bring on a flare.
It also would not be a bad idea to check for a UTI. Just to make sure and since your pain meds do not seem to be helping. I hope you feel better soon.

Unfortunately, as far as water goes, we NEED to drink it, but it takes trial and error to find what works for you. You're going to need to try different brands of bottled water to find ones that are okay for you. Most of us find waters we can drink with no problem without resorting to distilled.
Like Patricia said, IC is unpredictable -- what works for one may not work for all. Have you discussed the fact that you're having these spells with your doctor? There are many other treatments you can try, and one of those may do wonders for you! :)
:grouphug: I hope you feel better soon.
And some of us didn't have to use bottled water at all. I use tap water and have always been fine with it. It's very individual - but if you do need to use bottled water I'm sure the guys and gals here can give their recommends. :)

I too drink tap water at home, as we have a well - vs treated "city" water, lol. But at work I have always (even pre-IC) drank bottled water cause the water there is nasty, lol. I have no trouble with Aquafina. Dasani makes my frequency shoot up. But Aquafina, no problems and there's no added stuff like minerals, etc. I bought some Nestle water the other day and noticed when I got it home, tons of added stuff!! ACK!!! ;)

I am able to drink our city water without any problems, but when I am in a different area, I drink bottled "spring" water. Usually, there is nothing added to natural spring water.
