I have had bladder problems for years, ever since a stitch slipped down into my bladder from a Marshall Marcetti (sp) procedure in 1989. The stitch was in there for about 5 years before an alert urologist spotter it and removed it. However, I still have problems.
On and off uti's with incontinence.
Sometimes I have bladder infection symptoms but urines are clean.
Nights are the worse. I am incontinent with very foul urine. Not ammonia smelling, but more metallic. Just awful.
I am seeing a urologist who put me on Sanctura for overactive bladder and its helping somewhat.
Do you think I have IC? Thanks

Hi Anna and :welcome: to the boards!! It's hard to say, there are other possibilities that can have the same or similar symptoms. Is your Uro going to do any further testing to see if it is IC?? Have you discussed the possibiltiy with him/her on it?

Please keep us posted, and hopefully you will have answers soon, and get can on your way to feeling better!!!

Hugs!

I'm seeing my urolgist later this week and I am going to ask him. I also see my GP, who made me mad my last visit. I did have a uti, which he treated with Bactrim. I had a lot of pelvic pain and told him. He said it was not pelvic pain, but pain from my back (which is a chronic condition due to spinal stenosis) Give me a break! I know where my pain comes from and it wasn't from my back. Anyway, he did give me some Vicodin which helped.

Oh you're welcome and I am happy to hear you have an appt. Hopefully you can get to the bottom of it and get feeling better!! My bladder got fully into the game after a UTI, ugh. It was the UTI came and never left....It was awful.

But if it is IC, there are many many treatments, and a diet to follow, there's lots of ways to feel better!! Like I said earlier, please let us know how your appt goes!!!!

Hugs!

:welcome: to the ICN! You've come to the right place. Hopefully you will not be diagnosed with IC and whatever is going on with you will pass. If you do have it, there are so many kind, and helpful people here to help you get through it all.

Let us know how things go for you!
