I was on librax for about 7 months. It was great at first, couldn't even feel I was on it. It did mess up my period. It made me crampy in the lower back (not too bad). I was taking up to 4 a day before meals because my Sphincter of Odd was malfunctioning because of gall bladder surgery. Then in May of this year I began having the UTI feeling (IC) but didn't know It. the dr put me on detrol said i had OAB. So on the librax and the detrol I ended up not being able to urinate... So my gastro took me off of both which was very hard (withdrawl symptoms). Then i was Diagnosed when IC. but all in all I liked the librax it is just hard to get off of, messes up your period, gave me acne, but it made me happy.

Hi, I dont think Librax is an anti-depressant. I have taken it before for IBS and other stomach problems. like ulcers. This is what I found under "Librax"
Librax - CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE; CLIDINIUM is a combination of medicines that helps to relax your stomach and bowel. It may help to relieve spasms and decrease stomach acid. It may help to treat peptic ulcer disease or irritable bowel syndrome.

It relaxes smooth muscle tissue.

Hi there. I was on Librax sometime ago for Irritable Bowel Syndrome, it relaxes your intestinal tract and also has an anti-anxiety portion to it because they feel that anxiety/stress is a trigger for IBS attacks. It is not an anti-depressant. :) Hope that helps you.
Take care of yourself,
